Key Staff

Until 2001, Fabretto was an entirely volunteer run and managed organization. While we now have paid staff, we remain committed to staying lean – and doing much with little. Our aim is, and always will be, to keep management and fundraising expenses to the very minimum necessary to meet our program funding goals.

Staff

Alexandra S. Garcia, President
Alex manages all operations and financial matters of the Foundation. Prior to her involvement with Fabretto, she worked as a commercial lending officer in the banking industry and as the Chief Financial Officer for a successful entrepreneurial business venture.

Alexandra's role with Fabretto has grown from her initial volunteer engagement in 1996 as Co-Chair of the organization's first Washington, D.C., Gala. She Co-Chaired that event for 8 years, while taking on additional responsibilities, from Events Treasurer, to Corporate Treasurer, to Chief Financial Officer, to her current position as President beginning in January 2006. She is deeply committed to children's issues and welfare and believes deeply in Fabretto's mission.

A 1989 graduate of Georgetown University's Undergraduate School of Business, Alexandra lives in Arlington, VA with her husband Gonzalo and their two children, Nicholas and Carina. She can be reached at garciaa@fabretto.org.

Kevin C. Marinacci, Vice-President, Programs
In his role as VP of Programs for FCF, Kevin manages and develops all program offerings of La Familia Padre Fabretto in Nicaragua.

Kevin first went to Nicaragua in 1989 as part of a Georgetown University volunteer program, where he met Father Raphael Maria Fabretto and was first introduced to Father Fabretto's work with Nicaraguan abandoned, abused, orphaned and neglected children. After Father Fabretto's untimely death in 1990, Kevin took on a leadership role in establishing a much-needed organizational structure. Since then, Kevin has dedicated his life to developing Fabretto's mission to offer hope and opportunity to Nicaragua's poorest children.

Since 1994, under Kevin's stewardship, Fabretto has grown from an organization serving less than 500 children to serving over 5,000 children in five different centers in Nicaragua. Kevin earned his B.A. from Georgetown University in 1989 and his M.B.A. from the Kellogg Business School in 1995. Kevin lives in Managua with his wife Manely and their son, Nicholas. He can be reached at kevin@fabretto.org.

Kathleen Coppedge, Office Manager/Special Projects Manager
Kathleen manages and coordinates the bulk of our Arlington office administrative and financial duties. Kathleen also handles special projects. She can be reached at coppedgek@fabretto.org.

Ines Rivera, Grants
Ines conducts grant research and develops grant proposals including writing and creating foundation and government grant schedule. She can be reached at riverai@fabretto.org.

Gabriela Arguello, Events Director
Gaby coordinates and organizes our fundraising events around the country and the Baskets Program in the United States. Gaby is a first line of contact with our donors. She can be reached at arguellog@fabretto.org.
