Community Health Worker - Volunteering in Nicaragua

Description:
The health promoter will be responsible for developing and monitoring Fabretto's health and nutrition program in Cusmapa, Nicaragua. He/she will gain valuable field experience in a developing country by carrying out the following responsibilities:
- Coordinate and carry out health and nutrition studies in Cusmapa and surrounding rural communities, including study of FortiSoy, a supplement for children under 2
- Monitor lunch program, including evaluating recipes and new ingredients
- Manage special health cases program, including locating children with chronic health problems and helping with treatment and other needs
- Lead health-related training sessions for co-workers, students, teachers and parents
- Communicate frequently with Fabretto staff in Nicaragua and Washington, DC regarding projects and updates
A list of requirements follow:
- MPH or current MPH student
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Experience working or living in developing country preferred
- Strong statistical skills
- Passion for social justice
