Special Health Needs for Sick Fabretto Children

Fabretto's core health program focuses on basic health services provision like making sure children are innoculated, distributing deworming medication, and monitoring growth and basic health indicators.  However, we occasionally encounter serious medical conditions in the children whose necessary treatment and related costs fall outside of Fabretto's core operations and budget.

The Special Health Needs Initiative was started by Mike Zelek, a Fabretto Corps Volunteer.  Your specially designated gift to this fund will help us assist these sick children and their families with getting the specialized medical care that is needed.

A sample of funds uses include doctor's visit fees, transportation costs to take the children from outlying rural areas to urban centers like Esteli or Managua for care, and housing expenses for the families while their child is being treated.
